𝗘𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝘇𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Addis Ababa: August 03, 2026(Ministry of Agriculture)- The Ministry of Agriculture of Ethiopia, in collaboration with the World Bank and the World Food Programme (WFP) Ethiopia and Tanzania Country Offices, is hosting a South-South Knowledge Exchange between Ethiopia’s Rural Productive Safety Net Programme (RPSNP) and Tanzania’s Productive Social Safety Net (PSSN III) to strengthen regional collaboration and share best practices in Climate-Smart Public Works and digital delivery systems.

The opening day featured discussions on Ethiopia’s experience in integrating climate-smart approaches into the RPSNP, alongside presentations on the design, implementation, and impact of both programmes. Technical sessions also showcased the RPSNP Management Information System (MIS) and the Public Works Management Data and Information System (PWMDIS), demonstrating how digital solutions enhance programme planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and geospatial management.

Following the technical sessions in Addis Ababa, the Tanzanian delegation travelled to Dire Dawa for field visits to observe Climate-Smart Public Works interventions, community-based watershed management, environmental and social safeguards, grievance redress mechanisms, and the practical application of digital field tools, including Geo-Photo and UTM Geo-Mapping, for monitoring and reporting.

This five-day knowledge exchange reflects the Ministry of Agriculture’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation, promoting knowledge sharing, and advancing resilient, technology-enabled productive safety net systems across Africa.
